Sam Shepard and Patti Smith, 92 Y, January 21, 2010 November 21, 2009
Sam Shepard and Patti Smith have been close friends since the early 1970s, when they co-wrote and co-starred in the play Cowboy Mouth. Upon the publication of their new books—Shepard’s Day Out of Days, a collection of stories; and Smith’s memoir Just Kids—they read together at the Poetry Center for the first time.
This is going to be so rewarding. We have never been to a dual author reading or the 92nd Street Y before.
